Mistakes by Girardi Continue to Hurt the Yanks

In Tuesday’s game against Detroit, Hiroki Kuroda and David Price were locked in an outstanding pitcher’s duel.  After 7 innings, Kuroda only gave up 6 hits.   Price only gave up 7 hits.

When a pitcher is doing that well, you leave him in the game.  Period.   Detroit realized that.   They left Price in the game, and they won.    Clueless Joey Girardi decided to bench his pitcher in the middle of a great game.   The Yankees lost.

Because of Girardi.

Again.

We now live in an upside-down bizarre world where managers bench a guy in the middle of a two-hitter.

We now live in an upside-down bizarre world where managers bench a guy in the middle of a gem.

Now jump ahead to the bottom of the 9th.   Out hottest hitter of the last month, Carlos Beltran, got yet another clutch hit.   And then Girardi benched him.

Even though we were about to go into extra innings and we could have used Beltran’s bat in extra innings, Clueless Joey G. decided to put his hottest hitter on the bench.  Who does that?  What kind of manager PUNISHES his players for doing well?

Only Joey G.
